Fuel Shutoff Solenoid

  1. If engine will not start, test for correct supply voltage at fuel shutoff solenoid wire harness connector with ignition on. Voltmeter reading should be at least 8 volts.
  2. If voltage is correct, remove fuel shutoff solenoid from injection pump. Connect a jumper wire between battery positive terminal and fuel shutoff solenoid connector terminal.
  3. Connect another jumper wire to battery negative terminal and gently contact shutoff solenoid housing. Solenoid should click. Replace solenoid if necessary.
