Upshift Indicator Light

ECU controls upshift indicator light, which is found only in vehicles with M/T. Indicator light glows as bulb check when ignition is on with engine not running. Light turns off when engine starts.

Indicator light glows when engine load and speed indicates need for upshift to ECU. If gears are not shifted, ECU will turn light off after 3 to 5 seconds. Switch on transmission keeps light from lighting when transmission is in highest gear.
