EGR Valve System Test
- Start engine and verify that vacuum is present at vacuum fitting "C" (vacuum source) of EGR valve solenoid. See Fig 1 . Remove vacuum connector from fittings "A" and "B". Connect a vacuum gauge to vacuum fitting "B".
- Start and idle engine. There should be no vacuum at fitting "B". Disconnect electrical connector "D" from solenoid. There should now be vacuum at "B".
