Test 1A - Blank DRB-II Message Screen

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see BODY CONTROL SYSTEM CONNECTORS under DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
  1. Disconnect DRB-II. Using an external voltmeter, check voltage at terminal No. 5 at Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus diagnostic connector. Connector is located underneath dash at left side of steering column. If voltage is more than 10 volts, Perform TEST 1B. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Remove fuse F5 from power distribution center. Inspect fuse. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is not blown, using an external voltmeter, check voltage available to fuse that was removed.
  3. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open wire between fuse block or power distribution center and CCD bus diagnostic connector. Perform VERIFICATION TEST. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open wire to fuse block or distribution center. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
  4. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between fuse output terminal (at fuse block or power distribution center) and ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in wiring. Perform VERIFICATION TEST. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace blown fuse. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
