Test 20A - No Response Messages

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see BODY CONTROL SYSTEM CONNECTORS under DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.

There are 3 ways to get to this test:

  1. The DRB-II is currently connected to the CCD bus diagnostic connector and you have selected ENGINE from the main menu. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
  2. A self-diagnostic test brought you here.
  3. The DRB-II displayed NO RESPONSE message when an attempt was made to read information from a module. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
NOTE: It is possible to monitor the SBEC for an ACTIVE ON BUS message only at the CCD bus diagnostics connector. Monitor the SBEC for a NO RESPONSE message by selecting SYSTEM TEST under any of the module test selection menus.

If step 1) is the reason you came to this test, you must either select an appropriate selection from the DRB-II menu (BODY, ABS, OR TRANSMISSION) or, if you want to perform engine tests, connect DRB-II to the engine diagnostic connector located in the engine compartment.

If step 2) is the reason you came to this test, you must verify that you can access all the modules that are on the vehicle. Perform tests as necessary. See NO RESPONSE MESSAGE table.

NO RESPONSE MESSAGE

Module Test No.
Compass/Mini-Trip Module 21A
Single Board Engine Controller 22A

If step 3) is the reason you came to this test, perform test as necessary in the order than they appear. See NO RESPONSE MESSAGE table. The DRB-II will also show a NO RESPONSE message when you are trying to access a module that is not on the vehicle.
