Test 21B - Testing Compass/Mini-Trip Module For No Response

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see BODY CONTROL SYSTEM CONNECTORS under DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE. For wiring diagrams, see appropriate chassis wiring diagram in the WIRING DIAGRAMS Section.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Put DRB-II in ohmmeter mode. Probe terminal No. 5 (Black/Orange wire) of compass/mini-trip module connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Black/Orange wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect DRB-II.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance at Violet/Brown wire between terminals No. 1 of CCD bus diagnostic connector and No. 12 of compass/mini-trip module connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance between terminals No. 6 (White/Black wire) of CCD bus diagnostic connector and No. 11 (White/Black wire) of compass/mini-trip module connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Black or White/Gray wire. Perform VERIFICATION TEST. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace compass/mini-trip module. Perform VERIFICATION TEST.
