Test Dr-30B - Intermittent Map Sensor Signal Change

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Start engine. Using DRB-II, set engine speed to 1400 RPM and read MAP sensor voltage. Wiggle MAP sensor wiring harness while monitoring voltage. If engine stalls or voltage becomes erratic, repair MAP sensor wiring or connector. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  .
  2. If engine does not stall or voltage is not erratic, turn ignition off. Install a vacuum "T" into MAP sensor vacuum hose. Connect a vacuum gauge to "T." Start engine. Snap throttle open and closed while observing vacuum gauge.
  3. If vacuum drops rapidly to zero in. Hg, test is complete. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  . If vacuum does not drop rapidly to zero in. Hg, repair MAP sensor vacuum hose restrictions as necessary. Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-2  .
