Verification Test VER-3

Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary. If another fault was read previously and not corrected, return to TEST DR-1A and follow path specified by other fault. If engine controller was replaced, perform the following steps:

1) Start vehicle at least 20 times to activate factory theft alarm (if equipped). Write vehicle's EMR mileage into replacement engine controller. This will enable new engine controller to operate Emission Maintenance Reminder (EMR) light properly. Connect DRB-II to engine diagnostic connector and erase faults.

2) On A/C equipped models, turn on A/C system. Set blower to low speed. Drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes and attain a speed of at least 40 MPH. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears. Upon completion of road test, turn engine off. Restart engine and let it idle for at least 2 minutes.

3) Turn engine off. Connect DRB-II to engine diagnostic connector and read fault messages. If repaired fault has reset, repair is NOT complete. Check all pertinent TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS (TSBs), and return to TEST DR-1A if necessary. If another fault exists, return to TEST DR-1A and follow path specified by other fault. If no other faults exist, repair is now complete.
