Test 33C - Checking For Open Key-In Light Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind center console. Disconnect Blue BCM connector. If key-in light turns off, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If key-in light does not turn off, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect key-in ignition switch connector. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of key-in light driver circuit (Yellow/Red wire) at key-in ignition switch connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace ignition switch. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
