Test 7B - Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 26, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (Orange wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown wire and White/Black or Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 46, CCD BUS negative circuit (White/Black wire), and No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (Orange wire).
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Gray or White/Black wire and White/Gray or Orange wire. Perform TEST VER-1  . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1  .
