Test 12A - Faulty Electro/Mech Instrument Cluster Warning Light Id
NOTE:

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
A base Electro/Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) has only 3 gauges.
- If vehicle is equipped with a base MIC, go to TEST 12B - FAULTY . If vehicle is equipped with a premium MIC and CHECK GAUGES light is on at all times, go to TEST 12D - REPAIRING FAULTY . If vehicle is equipped with a premium MIC and CHECK GAUGES light is not on at all times, go to next step.
- Using DRB, actuate sequential light test. If sequential light test does not pass, stop actuation test and go to TEST 12C - REPAIRING INOPERATIVE
. If sequential light test passes, stop actuation test, identify faulty warning light, and perform test as indicated. See WARNING LIGHT TEST DIRECTORY below.WARNING LIGHT TEST DIRECTORY
Defective Warning Light Perform TEST CHECK ENGINE (1) Door Ajar TEST 13A - REPAIRING DOOR AJAR Liftgate Ajar TEST 43A Low Washer Fluid TEST 44A Low Fuel (2) (1) See appropriate TESTS W/CODES article in this section. (2) Go to step 3). - Ensure gas tank has more than 3 gallons in it. If fuel light is not on at all times, replace Body Control Module (BCM). Perform TEST VER-1B . If fuel light is on at all times, turn ignition off and disconnect BCM connectors. Turn ignition on. If fuel light is still on, replace MIC. Perform TEST VER-1B . If fuel light is off, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B .
