Test 7F - Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM Blue connector terminals No. 14, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and No. 19, key-in light driver circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Violet/Brown wire shorted to Yellow/Red wire. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between Blue BCM connector terminals No. 15, CCD BUS negative circuit (White/Black wire), and No. 19, key-in light driver circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair White/Black wire shorted to Yellow/Red wire. Perform 6TEST VER-1  .
  3. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between Blue BCM connector terminals No. 14, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and No. 21, seat belt light output circuit (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Violet/Brown shorted to Dark Blue/Red wires. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between Blue BCM connector terminals No. 15, CCD BUS negative circuit (White/Black wire), and No. 21, seat belt light driver circuit (Dark Blue/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair White/Black shorted to Dark Blue/Red wires. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  5. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, use DRB in ohmmeter mode to check resistance between BCM case and ground. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair BCM case ground. Perform TEST VER-1  .
  6. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of Blue BCM connector terminal No. 13, ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is more than 15 ohms, repair open Black/Light Green wire. Perform TEST VER-1  . If resistance is less than 15 ohms, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1  .
