Test 37B
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
article in this section.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Ensure left front seat belt is not fastened. Using DRB, read seat belt switch status. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to TEST 37D . If DRB displays SEAT BELT CLOSED, go to next step.
- Fasten left front seat belt. If DRB does not display SEAT BELT OPEN, go to TEST 37E . If DRB displays SEAT BELT OPEN, go to next step.
- Using DRB, actuate seat belt warning light test. If seat belt warning light flashes, system is operating properly. Perform TEST VER-1B . If seat belt warning light does not flash, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Blue Body Control Module (BCM) connector. BCM is located behind center console. Check connector, and clean or repair connector as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B . If connector is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on seat belt light driver circuit (Dark Blue/Red wire) at Blue BCM connector terminal No. 21. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. Perform TEST VER-1B . If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect information center connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage on fused ignition switch output circuit (Dark Blue/Yellow wire) at information center connector No. 9. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Dark Blue/Yellow wire. Perform TEST VER-1B . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Inspect seat belt warning light bulb and connector. If bulb is blown or connector is damaged, repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-1B . If bulb and connector are okay, repair open in Dark Blue/Red wire. Perform TEST VER-1B .
