Test 4B - EIC Speedometer/Odometer Failure

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB, select EIC SEQUENTIAL LEGENDS test. If any legends of EIC fail to illuminate or 2 illuminate at the same time (test fails), replace EIC. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
  2. If test passes, stop actuation test using DRB. Raise vehicle on hoist and start engine. Place gear selector in Drive (A/T) or 1st gear (M/T). Using DRB, read Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal. If VSS signal does not increase smoothly with acceleration, see appropriate ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
  3. If VSS signal increases smoothly with acceleration, check if problem is with odometer only. If problem is not with odometer only, replace EIC. Perform TEST VER-1B  . If problem is with odometer only, replace body control module. Perform TEST VER-1B  .
