Test 107A - Repairing Powertrain Control Module No Response Condition
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B after each repair.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). PCM is located between Data Link Connector (DLC) and battery on fenderwell. Using an external ohmmeter, with scan tool connected to DLC, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between PCM connector terminal No. 26 and DLC connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
- Check resistance of White/Black wire between PCM connector terminal No. 46 and DLC connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM.
