Test 64A - Inoperative Key-In Lamp

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article. Perform TEST VER-1B  after each repair.
  1. Turn ignition off. Open left door and observe courtesy lamps. If courtesy lamps do not light, go to TEST 21A . If courtesy lamps light, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Blue connector. BCM is located behind left knee panel. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. If connections are okay, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Blue connector terminal No. 22 (Yellow/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Gain access to ignition switch 4-pin connector. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode backprobe ignition switch 4-pin connector terminal No. 4 (Yellow/Red wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow/Red wire. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Backprobe key in ignition switch 4-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair or replace key in ignition lamp bulb or socket.
