Test 7B - Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  in this article. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  section at the end of this article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 26, CCD BUS positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire) and PCM terminal No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (White/Black wire on ZJ body; Orange wire on all others). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between CCD BUS positive circuit and 8-volt supply circuit. Perform TEST VER-1 .
  2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 46, CCD BUS negative circuit (White/Black wire on XJ body; White/Gray wire on ZJ body), and PCM terminal No. 7, 8-volt supply circuit (White/Black wire on ZJ body; Orange wire on all others).
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between CCD BUS negative circuit and 8-volt supply circuit. Perform TEST VER-1 . If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST VER-1 .
