Test VER-1B - Verification Procedure

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Ensure all repairs have been made. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition on, engine off. Fully operate system that was malfunctioning by turning switch on, opening door, etc. If system does not operate properly, go to TEST 1A . If system operates properly, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, read body control module DTCs. If any DTCs return, go to TEST 1B . If no DTCs return, repair is complete.
NOTE: Grand Cherokee is equipped with an Air Bag Control Module (ABCM) which uses CCD BUS lines to communicate with test equipment. This article is only used to diagnose scan tool failure messages for Grand Cherokee. If necessary to diagnose a CCD BUS line malfunction for ABCM, refer to the AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
NOTE: Some vehicles may not have specific module/system listed in test. If vehicle is not equipped with module/system specified in test step, proceed to next step. For module/system options available, see MODULE APPLICATIONS  table BELOW.
