  2. Ensure battery is fully charged. Using scan tool, select ENGINE. Display and record Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). If displayed VIN matches vehicle actual VIN, replace Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If displayed VIN does not match vehicle actual VIN, replace Powertrain Control Module (PCM). See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Turn ignition off. Visually inspect connectors at Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and SKIM for damaged terminals or chaffed wires. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Check wiring harness for damage. Check for related TSBs. If wiring and connectors are okay, test is complete. If any problems are found, repair as necessary. Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
