No Response From Compass/Mini-Trip Computer

NOTE: Compass Mini-Trip Computer (CMTC) is also referred to as overhead console.
  1. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect CMTC connector. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and CMTC connector terminal No. 6 (White/Black wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in White/Black wire between CMTC and junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between ground and CMTC connector terminal No. 12 (White/Black wire). Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, go to next step. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, repair open in White/Black wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Connect a jumper wire between ground and CMTC connector terminal No. 6 (Violet/Brown wire). Using scan tool, perform BUS TEST. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, replace CMTC. If scan tool displays BUS SHORTED TO GROUND, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
