No Response From Instrument Cluster

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check for Powertrain Control Module (PCM) communication. If PCM communication is possible, go to next step. If PCM communication is not possible, go to NO RESPONSE FROM POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE  .
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster. Connect jumper between ground and terminal No. 2 (Violet/Brown wire) on instrument cluster Green harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open Violet/Brown wire.
  3. Connect jumper between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Black wire) on instrument cluster Green harness connector. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open White/Black wire. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace instrument cluster.
