No Response From Air Bag Control Module
- Remove and inspect fuse No. 9 from fuse block, located behind glove box. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 4 .
- Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and fused ignition switch output terminal on fuse No. 9 socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace fuse No. 9.
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Disconnect Air Bag Control Module (ACM) connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and fused ignition switch output terminal on fuse No. 9 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground on Light Green/Yellow wire. Replace fuse No. 9. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace ACM. Replace fuse No. 9.
- Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and ignition output terminal on fuse No. 9 socket (Light Green/Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light Green/Yellow wire.
- Install fuse No. 9. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Disconnect Air Bag Control Module (ACM) connector. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and ACM harness connector terminal No. 17 (Light Green/Yellow wire) on ACM harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light Green/Yellow wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire) on ACM harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Pink wire.
- Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 19 (Violet/Brown wire) on ACM harness connector. If voltage is 1.8-2.6 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not 1.8-2.6 volts, repair open Violet/Brown wire.
- Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 18 (White/Black wire) on ACM connector. If voltage is not 1.8-2.6 volts, repair open White/Black wire. If voltage is 1.8-2.6 volts, replace ACM.
