Air Bag Verification Test

  1. Connect scan tool. Remove all jumper wires used during testing. Reconnect all disconnected components, except battery. Turn ignition on, then reconnect battery.
  2. Clear all stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC). Turn ignition off, then on. Wait one minute. Recheck active and stored codes. If Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been changed, a DTC will be set in Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) and air bag modules. Enter correct mileage and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in PCM. Clear DTCs from ABS and Air bag modules.
  3. If any other active or stored DTCs are present, go to appropriate test to diagnose and repair system.
