Compass/Mini-Trip Computer Displays SC

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect ambient temperature sensor harness connector. Sensor is located behind front bumper (right center). Remove ambient temperature sensor. Measure resistance between terminals (component side) at ambient temperature sensor. See AMBIENT TEMPERATURE SENSOR SPECIFICATIONS  table. If resistance and temperature are as specified, go to next step. If resistance and temperature are not as specified, replace ambient temperature sensor. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black/Light Blue wire) at ambient temperature sensor harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Light Blue wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace CMTC. See COMPASS/MINI-TRIP COMPUTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
