Skis Verification Test
NOTE:
If 3 attempts are made to place Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) in secured access mode using incorrect Personal Identification Number (PIN), secured access mode will be locked out for one hour. To exit lockout mode, turn ignition switch to ON position for one hour. Connect battery charger if necessary.
- Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary. Obtain vehicle unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM). This number can be obtained from vehicle invoice or calling Chrysler customer center.
- Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM then MISCELLANEOUS. Select desired procedure and follow steps that will be displayed. If SKIM has been replaced, ensure all sentry keys are programmed to new SKIM. See PROGRAMMING .
- Using scan tool, display and erase all PCM and SKIM DTCs. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to ON positions 5 times, leaving ignition switch in ON position for a minimum of 90 seconds per cycle. Using scan tool, read and record SKIM DTCs. If original DTC did not return and there are no new DTCs, test is complete. If original DTC returns or another DTC is present, perform appropriate test in accordance with DTC retrieved. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
