Scan Tool Blank Screen

NOTE: Low temperatures will affect visibility of display. Adjust contrast to compensate for condition.
  1. Check continuity between ground and terminals No. 4 (Black wire) and No. 5 (Black/Tan wire) at Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in appropriate wire.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 16 (Tan/Black wire) at DLC. If battery voltage does not exist, repair power distribution circuit as necessary. See DATA LINK CONNECTORS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If battery voltage exists, repair or replace scan tool or scan tool cable as necessary. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
