Rain Sensor Messages Not Received

When Monitored: With the ignition in run, and the IOD fuse installed.

Set Condition: The BCM does not receive any messages from the rain sensor module.

Possible Causes are:

• ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE RAIN SENSOR MODULE
• BODY CONTROL MODULE

1. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the rain sensor module. Was the DRBIII(R) able to I/D or communicate with the rain sensor module? If yes, go to next step. If no, perform NO RESPONSE FROM RAIN SENSOR  in COMMUNICATION under SYMPTOM TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
2. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTC's. Turn the ignition on and wait approximately 1 minute. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTC's. Did this DTC reset? If yes, replace the Body Control Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, test is complete.
