EATX Message Status

Possible Causes are:

  1. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), attempt to I/D or communicate with the EATX. Is there a response from the Transmission Control Module? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE - GAS ONLY  or NO RESPONSE FROM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE - DIESEL ONLY  in COMMUNICATION under SYMPTOM TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTCs. Cycle the ignition and wait approximately 1 minute. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Did this DTC reset? If yes, replace the Instrument Cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, the condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
