PCM Message Not Received By MIC

When Monitored: With the ignition on.

Set Condition: The Instrument Cluster detects no PCM bus messages received for 6 seconds.

Possible Causes are:

  1. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY CONTROLLER and SYSTEM TEST. Does the DRBIII(R) display PCM active on the bus? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to NO RESPONSE FROM PCM (PCI BUS) - GAS ONLY  in COMMUNICATION under SYMPTOM TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Using the DRBIII(R), erase the DTC from Instrument Cluster. Cycle the ignition and wait approximately 1 minute. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Did this DTC reset? If yes, replace the Instrument Cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, the condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
