BUS Messages Missing
When Monitored: While the EVIC is performing a series of tests on the microprocessor, compass coil, and internal circuitry.
Set Condition: This code will set during the self test if the EVIC does not receive PCI Bus messages from the BCM, MIC, or PCM.
Possible Causes are:
- NO RESPONSE PCI BUS BCM
- NO RESPONSE PCI BUS PCM
- NO RESPONSE PCI BUS MIC
- ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER
- Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with the BCM. Was the DRBIII(R) able to identify or communicate with the BCM? If yes, go to next step. If no, diagnose using appropriate procedure. See COMMUNICATION under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), select BODY CONTROLLER, then SYSTEM TEST. Does the DRBIII(R) display PCM Active on the Bus? If yes, go to next step. If no, If no, diagnose using appropriate procedure. See COMMUNICATION under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), select ELECTRO/MECHANICAL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. Is there a response from the Instrument Cluster? If yes, replace and program the Electronic Vehicle Information Center. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, diagnose using appropriate procedure. See COMMUNICATION under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
