Self-Diagnostic System: Introduction
The diagnostic procedures are based on the failure condition or symptom being present at the time of diagnosis. Follow the recommendations listed when choosing your diagnostic path.
- First make sure the DRBIII(R) is communicating with the appropriate modules; i.e., if the DRBIII(R) displays a NO RESPONSE or a BUS - SIGNALS OPEN condition, you must diagnose communications faults first.
- Read DTC's with the DRBIII(R).
- If no DTC's are present, identify the customer complaint.
- Once the DTC or customer complaint is identified, locate appropriate test in DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION or SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION tables. When repairs are required, see appropriate article for component or system for the proper removal and repair procedure.
