Unable To Access Driver Door Module And/Or Passenger Door Module With DRBIII(R)

Possible Causes are:

  1. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), enter Body then Body Computer. Was the DRBIII(R) able to I/D or communicate with the BCM? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE  . Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), enter Body then Body Computer and read DTC's. Are any DTCs present? If yes, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table in RETRIEVING & CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove and inspect fuse No. 22 and No. 28 from the junction block. Is either fuse open? If yes, refer to the wiring diagrams to help isolate a possible short to ground condition, replace fuse and retest. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Ensure Fuse No. 22 is installed in the junction block. Remove the BCM from the Junction Block. Turn ignition on. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit at the Junction Block Body Control Module connector cavity No. 5. Is the test light illuminated? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  5. Turn ignition off. Ensure Fuse No. 28 is installed in the junction block. Remove the BCM from the Junction Block. Turn ignition on. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the Fused Ignition Switch Output circuit at the Junction Block Body Control Module connector cavity No. 25. Is the test light illuminated? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the junction block. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  6. If there are no possible causes remaining, replace the Body Control Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
