Check Gauges Indicator Inoperative
Possible Causes are:
- DTC Present
- Instrument Cluster
- Turn the ignition from the Lock to the Run position. This will start the MIL bulb check. Did the Check Engine indicator illuminate for approximately 4 seconds and then go out? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the instrument cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS.
- Ensure that the engine temperature, oil pressure, and battery voltage are operating properly before proceeding with this test. Using the DRBIII(R), read ENGINE DTC's. Are there any PCM DTC's present? If yes, diagnose and repair DTC. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - GRAND CHEROKEE article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1 under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, test is complete.
