Voltmeter Inoperative

Possible Causes are:

Diagnose and repair any Charging System faults or PCM DTCs before proceeding with this test. Ensure that there is communication with the Instrument Cluster and the PCM before proceeding with this test. Perform the Instrument Cluster Self Test. The self test can be performed manually or using the DRBIII(R). Turn ignition off. Press and hold the Trip Reset button. Turn ignition on. Observe the Voltmeter during the self test. The Voltmeter should position the indicator needle at the following calibration points: 9 Volts, 14 Volts and 16 Volts. Did the Voltmeter position the indicator needle at the proper calibration points? If yes, the condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, replace the instrument cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
