45RFE/545RFE Transmission Verification Test VER 1

  1. Connect the DRBIII(R) to the Data Link Connector.
  2. Reconnect any disconnected components.
  3. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTC's.
  4. Using the DRBIII(R), display Transmission Temperature. Start and run the engine until the Transmission Temperature is HOT more than 110°F (43°C).
  5. Check the Transmission fluid and adjust if necessary.
  6. If the TCM has been replaced or if the transmission has been repaired or replaced it is necessary to perform the DRBIII(R) Quick Learn Procedure.
  7. Road test the vehicle. Using the DRBIII(R), monitor TPS. Make fifteen to twenty 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 upshifts and (4-4 prime for 545RFE only).
  8. Perform these shifts from a standing start to 60 MPH (97 KMH) with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.
  9. At less than 25 MPH (40 KMH), make five to eight wide open throttle kickdowns to 1st gear. Allow at least 5 seconds each in 2nd and 3rd gear between each kickdown.
  10. Check for DTC's during the road test.
  11. Use the EATX OBDII task manager to run Good Trip time in each gear, this will confirm the repair and to ensure that the DTC has not re-matured. Were any Trouble Codes set during the road test? If yes, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table in RETRIEVING & CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no, repair is complete.
