Memory System Verification Test

  1. Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
  2. If any Memory/Heated Seat, or Driver's Door Module Trouble Codes are present, erase at this time.
  3. If the Memory Seat Module was replaced, use the DRBIII(R) and Reset Guard Bands. See MEMORY SEATS  under PROGRAMMING.
  4. With the Memory Switch on the Driver's Door, program the Driver's Seat No. 1 Button to a desired position and Driver No. 2 Button to a different position.
  5. Remove the ignition key and close all doors to allow the Body Control Module to time out (30 seconds).
  6. Verify that both Memory positions can be recalled from the RKE transmitter and the Memory Switch on the Driver's Door.
  7. Turn ignition on, and with the DRBIII(R), erase all Diagnostic Trouble Codes from all modules. Start the engine and allow it to run for 2 minutes and fully operate the system that was malfunctioning.
  8. Turn ignition off and wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on and using the DRBIII(R), read DTC's from all modules. Are any DTC's present or is the original complaint still present? If yes, repair is not complete. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table in RETRIEVING & CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no, repair is complete.
