Tire Pressure Verification Test

  1. Perform the EVIC training. See ELECTRONIC VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  2. Using the DRBIII(R) or the EVIC RESET button, set the EVIC to Diagnostics mode (blank screen).
  3. NOTE: Set the EVIC as follows:
    • Press and hold the EVIC RESET button for five seconds (EVIC will beep).
    • Set the EVIC to display BLOCK COUNTERS.
  4. A vehicle graphic will display showing counters at wheel locations.
  5. Drive the vehicle at 25 MPH (40 KMH) for at least 2 minutes.
  6. Observe that the counters increment at least 3 sensor/transmitter receptions for each wheel. Can the EVIC be trained and do the counters show Sensor/Transmitter receptions? If yes, repair is complete. If no, refer to testing for this system. See REMOTE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
