W5AJ400 Transmission Verification Test VER 1

  1. Connect the DRBIII(R) to the Data Link Connector.
  2. Reconnect any disconnected components.
  3. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTC's.
  4. Using the DRBIII(R), display Transmission Temperature. Start and run the engine until the Transmission Temperature is more than 110°F (43°C).
  5. Check the Transmission fluid and adjust if necessary.
  6. Road test the vehicle. Make fifteen to twenty 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 upshifts.
  7. Perform these shifts from a standing start to 45 MPH (72 KMH) with a constant throttle opening of 20 to 25 degrees.
  8. From less than 25 MPH (40 KMH), make five to eight wide open throttle kickdowns to 1st gear. Allow at least 5 seconds each in 2nd and 3rd gear between each kickdown.
  9. Check for DTC's during the road test.
  10. Using the DRBIII(R), actuate all solenoids. Check the fault status. Were any Trouble Codes set during the road test? If yes, repair is not complete. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table in RETRIEVING & CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If no, repair is complete.
