Electronic Vehicle Information Center
The EVIC is located over rear view mirror, attached to headliner. EVIC consists of a mini/trip computer module, electronic compass and thermometer. On some models, EVIC also includes universal remote transmitter. Compass is self-calibrated and requires no programming. Vehicle information warning messages displayed on EVIC correspond to indicator lights on instrument cluster and chime operation. See CHIME SYSTEM . EVIC can display the following information:
- Average/instant fuel economy.
- Compass direction.
- Door/liftgate ajar.
- Elapsed time.
- Low coolant/washer fluid level.
- Miles/kilometers to empty.
- Miles/kilometers to service.
- Outside ambient temperature.
- Trip odometer.
- Turn signals on.
- Service required.
EVIC features are programmable using overhead console. MENU button selects menu of programmable features. STEP button cycles available programmable choices. Continued pressing of MENU button accepts choice and selects next possible feature for programming. Pressing C/T (compass/temperature display selector) button returns EVIC display to normal compass/temperature mode.
