Remote Keyless Entry System

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) receiver is located in Passenger's Door Module (PDM). When PDM receives a valid signal from RKE transmitter, signals are sent on the PCI bus to lock or unlock doors. RKE transmitter uses Radio Frequency (RF) signals to communicate with RKE receiver.

When lock button on RKE transmitter is pressed, all locks will lock, illuminated entry will turn off if all doors are closed and Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) will be armed (if equipped). When unlock button on RKE transmitter is pressed one time, driver's front door will unlock, illuminated entry will turn on and VTSS will be disarmed (if equipped). When unlock button on RKE transmitter is pressed a second time, other doors will unlock. Using Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC), RKE feature is programmable to open all doors by pressing RKE transmitter once.
