VTSS Indicator Inoperative

Possible Causes:

Testing

    NOTE: Ensure that the VTSS is enabled before proceeding with this test.
  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), read Body Control Module and Intrusion Transceiver Module DTCs. Does the DRBIII(R) display any DTCs? If yes, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - LIBERTY article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no, go to next step.
  2. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector. Measure the voltage between the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit and ground. Is the voltage above 10.5 volts? If yes, replace the Body Control Module. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)  in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, go to next step.
  3. Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Instrument Cluster Harness connector. Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms? If yes, repair the VTSS Indicator Driver circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  . If no, replace the Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - LIBERTY article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
