Wiper System

Front wiper system consists of wiper system controls located on right multifunction switch, Body Control Module (BCM), wiper high/low relay, wiper on/off relay and wiper motor. Front wiper system provides driver with normal wipe (low and high speeds), intermittent wipe and wipe after wash functions. Low and high speeds are controlled by multifunction switch and high/low relay. Intermittent wiper function is controlled through wiper on/off relay and BCM. BCM uses vehicle speed input to double normal delay times when vehicle speed is less than 10 MPH. Wipe after wash function is controlled by BCM. After washer motor is activated and deactivated, BCM will command wipers to operate 3 additional times. Wiper/washer function is activated by pulling multifunction switch lever toward driver.

Rear wiper system is controlled from wiper system controls located on right multifunction switch and wiper motor. Rear wiper system provides driver with normal wipe, intermittent wipe and wipe after wash functions. A rotary knob at center of multifunction switch controls rear wiper speed. Wiper/washer function is activated by pushing multifunction switch lever forward. Liftgate ajar switch signals rear wipers to stop operation and park (if operating), or not allow rear wiper operation when liftgate and/or liftglass is opened. Ignition switch must be cycled off and then on to restart rear wiper operation.
