High Beam Indicator Inoperative

NOTE: Ensure high beam headlights operate before performing test.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn on headlights and select high beams. Ensure foglights are off, if equipped. Using test light connected to ground, probe instrument cluster harness connector C1 terminal No. 3 (Red/Gray wire). See Figure . If test light illuminates brightly, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate brightly, repair open or poor connection on Red/Gray and/or Red/Orange wire.
  2. Turn headlights off. Remove high beam indicator bulb. If bulb is faulty, replace bulb. If bulb is okay, replace instrument cluster.
