Anti-Lock Brake Verification Test

  1. Turn ignition off.
  2. Connect all previously disconnected components and connectors.
  3. Turn off all accessories. Ensure battery is fully charged.
  4. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from all modules. Start engine and allow engine to idle for 2 minutes. Operate malfunctioning system.
  5. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Recheck for DTCs from all modules.
  6. If any DTCs are present, go to appropriate diagnosis and repair procedure. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  .
    7. CAUTION: Ensure vehicle can stop before performing ABS braking procedure.
  7. If no DTCs are present, road test vehicle for at least 5 minutes. Perform several ABS braking stops.
  8. Using scan tool, check for DTCs again. If any DTCs are present, go to appropriate diagnosis and repair procedure. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  .
  9. If no DTCs are present and customer complaint cannot be duplicated, repair is complete.
