Sentry Key Immobilizer System Verification Test
- Reconnect all disconnected components and connectors.
- Obtain vehicle's unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to it's original Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) from vehicle owner or Chrysler's customer center.
- Use care when entering PIN. If secured access mode is attempted 3 times using incorrect PIN, secured access mode will be locked out for one hour and scan tool will display BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN.
- To exit lock out, turn ignition switch on for one hour. Ensure all accessories are turned off. Monitor battery state and connect battery charger as necessary.
- Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, then MISCELLANEOUS. Select desired procedure and follow on-screen instructions.
- If SKIM was replaced, program all customer keys into SKIM's memory.
- Erase all DTCs after repairs. Turn ignition on. Wait 90 seconds. Turn ignition off. Repeat ignition cycle 5 times. Recheck for DTCs. If no DTCs exist, repair is complete. If any DTCs exist, diagnose and repair system as necessary. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
