Spark Plug: Removal: 3.7L

  1. Remove the necessary air filter tubing and air intake components at the top of the engine at the throttle body.
    NOTE: The three spark plugs located on the left bank of the engine are under three individual ignition coils (1). Each individual ignition coil must be removed to gain access to each spark plug located on the left bank of the engine.
  2. Prior to removing the ignition coil, spray compressed air around the coil base at the cylinder head.
  3. Remove the ignition coil (1). See Removal . Check the condition of ignition coil O-ring and replace as necessary.
  4. Prior to removing the spark plug, spray compressed air into the cylinder head opening. This will help prevent foreign material from entering combustion chamber.
  5. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head using a quality thin wall socket with a rubber or foam insert.
  6. Inspect the spark plug condition.
