Sensor, Coolant Temperature: Removal: 5.7L/6.4L
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is located on the upper portion of the water pump housing. It is installed into a water jacket inline with the thermostat.
WARNING:
Hot, pressurized coolant can cause injury by scalding. Cooling system must be partially drained before removing the coolant temperature sensor.
- Remove the air intake system. Refer to

.NOTE:
Do not waste reusable coolant. If solution is clean, drain coolant into a clean container for reuse.
- Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect electrical connector (3) from sensor (2).
- Remove sensor from the water pump housing.
