Module, Fuel Pump: Removal: Removal

- The 2.8L diesel fuel pump module (2) is located on the top of fuel tank.

- Drain and remove fuel tank.
- Note rotational position of module before attempting removal. An indexing arrow is located on top of module for this purpose.
- Position special Lockring Remover/Installer tool (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (3) into notches on outside edge of lockring (5).
- Install 1/2 inch drive breaker bar (1) to special Lockring Remover/Installer tool (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (3).
- Rotate breaker bar counter-clockwise to remove lockring.
- Remove lockring. The module will spring up slightly when lockring is removed.
- Remove module from fuel tank. Be careful not to bend float arm while removing.
