Cylinder Head Assembly

CYLINDER HEAD









Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown, following this 9 step torque plus angle method. Tighten according to the following torque values:
Step 1: All 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Step 2: All 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
Step 3: All + 75° Turn Do not use a torque wrench for this step.
Step 4: All + 50° Turn Do not use a torque wrench for this step.

Step 5: Loosen all fasteners in reverse of sequence shown

Step 6: All 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.)
Step 7: All 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.)
Step 8: All + 70° Turn Do not use a torque wrench for this step.
Step 9: All + 70° Turn Do not use a torque wrench for this step.

BOLT RE-USABILITY






The bolts must be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down the bolts must be replaced.






SURFACE VARIATION

Flatness (Head Gasket Surface) 0.09 mm (0.0035 in.)






CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP









Install the camshaft bearing caps and hand tighten the retaining bolts 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.).

Tighten the bearing cap retaining bolts 9.5 Nm (84 in. lbs.).
