Pump, Water: Installation: 2.8L

- Clean mating surfaces of water pump housing and engine block as necessary.
- Place a new O-ring seal in the groove in water pump housing.
- Install the water pump. Tighten the bolts to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).

- Install the inner timing cover. Tighten bolts to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).

- Install the timing belt.
- Install the radiator fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
- Evacuate air and refill cooling system. Refer to PUMP, WATER, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Check cooling system for leaks. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
